Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters

Monte Carlo

One of the the oldest tennis tournament in history was found in 1897, 120 years ago and the first champion was tennis legend Reginald Doherty. In 1969 the tournament joined to the Open era events. Starting in 2009, Monte Carlo became the only ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament not to have a mandatory player commitment and the most of the top players still elect to play the event despite this status.
