China Open, Beijing
The first men's singles and doubles events were held in 1993, 33 years ago. It was a year in which the Qatar Open and Dubai Tennis Championships were also introduced to the men's tour, as the ATP launched a series of new tournaments in Asia. The Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Center was built for the 2008 Olympic Games. It is now the arena for tournament matches. In 2009, the venue was renamed to the National Tennis Center. The venue has a 15,000-seat stadium with a retractable roof, named Diamond Court for its resemblance to a gemstone. In 2020-2022, the event was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
