Adelaide International 1
The tournament was founded in 2020. In February 2019, the South Australian Government announced it would invest $10 million to construct a canopy-roof structure over the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre. ‘Memorial Drive’ came from the winding avenue known as War Memorial Drive, which follows the River Torrens from Hackney through North Adelaide. In its early years, the tennis complex hosted the Australian Open and matches of the Davis Cup.
In 2020, the upgraded courts of the legendary tennis center were opened for the best tennis players again.
