The tournament was founded in 2014, 9 years ago, as WTA 125K series-level event. In 2016 the event was upgraded to the International category. It is also part of the China Open Series. In 2020 - 2021, the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. In 2022-2023, the event was not held after the suspension of all WTA tournaments in China over concerns about Shuai PENG and COVID-19 restrictions.
