The tournament was founded in 1974, 50 years ago. The event takes place in Devonshire Park - Eastbourne's oldest park which has hosted Lawn Tennis since the 1870s. Now it is a combined ATP World Tour and WTA event. Martina NAVRATILOVA holds the record for the most singles titles with 11. In 2020, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
