WTA Finals
The WTA Finals is the next tier in the WTA calendar after Grand Slam tournaments. There are two events in this category - the WTA Finals, held since 1972, and WTA Elite Trophy, with the inaugural edition in 2015. From 1972 to 1974, the WTA final was held in October, then from 1975 until 1986 in March. Finally, the WTA decided to play a tournament at the end of each year. WTA finals winners are awarded up to 1500 ranking points, and WTA Elite Trophy winners get up to 700.
