WTA Premier 5

The Premier 5 tournaments is the second tier in the all Premier events. Now WTA rules require top 10 female players to play four of the five Premier 5 tournaments, a withdrawal would have meant fine, a zero-point event on ranking, as well as further penalties if they did not fulfill media and publicity obligations. The winners of the tournaments are awarded 900 rankings points.
