ALL TIME Shanghai VENUES
Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, Shanghai: 2009 - present
Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena (or Qizhong Stadium) is one of the largest and most modern tennis complexes in Asia, located in the southwest of Shanghai (Minhang District), China. It was built in 2005 specifically for the ATP Finals, then called the Tennis Masters Cup. After Shanghai joined the ATP Masters Series, the complex became the tournament's main venue. The main feature of the complex is the center court with its unique sliding roof, made in the shape of a magnolia flower - the official symbol of Shanghai. The eight steel petals of the roof slide or close along a spiral trajectory, imitating the flowering of a magnolia, in just 8 minutes. The Shanghai tournament is known for its exceptional hospitality. Qizhong became the first tennis stadium in the world to provide top-seeded players with personal locker rooms. All courts at the tennis complex are equipped with DecoTurf, the same hard-court surface used at the US Open.
Centre Court, Shanghai
The Centre Court has an official capacity of 13,779 spectators. However, during large events, thanks to additional areas and boxes, the total capacity can be expanded to 15,000 people. A feature of the Centre Court is the exclusive private locker rooms for the eight highest-seeded tennis players of the tournament, which are equipped to the standards of five-star hotels. At the entrance to each room, there is a so-called heritage plaque listing legendary tennis players (such as Roger FEDERER, Rafael NADAL, or Novak DJOKOVIC) who have occupied this locker room in previous years. Each room is completely self-contained and, unlike the shared locker rooms, has its own bathroom and shower. The room's walls are decorated with large personalized photo wallpapers featuring the player's image and name, and a carpet woven with the player's name.

Grandstand 2 Court, Shanghai
Grandstand 2 Court was purpose-built alongside several other venues in preparation for the first-ever ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai. Since its opening, the court has accommodated 5,000 spectators. In 2024, heavy rains caused many changes hanges to the tournament schedule, so in 2025 the organizers carried out an unprecedented, urgent renovation by constructing an innovative retractable roof. The roof is fully automated and can be closed in just 10 minutes, quickly isolating the court from the elements. The mechanism is designed so that when the roof is open, it slides down to protect the pedestrian area (piazza) around the stadium, and when closed, it completely covers the court and the stands.

The seating arrangement of the Grandstand Court at the Lindner Family Tennis Center is divided into a lower tier with reserved seats and an upper tier, where a general admission system is often in operation.
Level 1. The best seats in the stadium. The lowest rows of this level are the most prestigious and form the so-called box or parterre of the court. Accordingly, ticket prices here are higher.
Level 2. Since the seats on the second level are elevated above the court, you can easily follow the trajectory of the ball without having to turn your head from side to side constantly. During daytime sessions, the best seats are in the west stand or the corner sectors, so the sun shines on your back rather than in your eyes.
