The first tournament was held in 1994, 31 years ago. For the last few years, the tournament from little-known low-level tour development became the global top eight, first in Asia, the Asia Pacific most leadership event. In 2006, the event became the first tournament other than the US Open to use the Hawk-Eye system. In 2020 - 2022, the event was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
