Dallas Open
The tournament was founded in 1975, 50 years ago, after Memphis cotton merchant William Dunavant Jr. purchased the Memphis Athletic Club and began a $7 M expansion to transform the facility into the Racquet Club of Memphis. The tournament was played on the indoor carpet into the 1980s, but the club eventually changed its surface to hard courts. In 2018 the event relocated to Long Island, ensuring the continuation of one of the ATP World Tour’s longest-running tournaments in the United States. In 2021, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the ATP Tour returned to Dallas for the first time in more than 30 years.
