ATP Tour Masters 1000

The ATP Tour Masters 1000 (also known as ATP Masters) is the next tier in the ATP calendar after Grand Slam tournaments and ATP World Tour Finals. The first edition of events in 1990-1995 was known as the Championship Series, Single Week, and included the nine most prestigious tournaments of the preceding Grand Prix tennis circuit. In 1996-1999 series was known as Mercedes-Benz Super 9, from 2000 to 2004 as the Tennis Masters Series, and the ATP Masters Series in 2005-2008. Since 2009 it has been known as ATP Tour Masters 1000. The winners of the tournaments are awarded 1000 ranking points.
