The event was founded in 2008, 16 years ago. The tournament continues the ITF event Nordea Danish Open in Odense. In 2010, under pressure to win the inaugural event in front of an expectant home crowd, the top-seeded Caroline WOZNIACKI had wobbled as she advanced to the final but needed just 78 minutes to claim the title.
