Erste Bank Open, Vienna

Vienna
The first tournament was held in 1974, 50 years ago. In his only appearance in 1992, Jimmy CONNORS entered the hall without any shorts, played one set in tennis shorts from the later tournament director Peter Feigl, and lost it against Fabrice SANTORO. Conner's shorts were fetched from the hotel for the second set, and he won. In the third set, however, Conners was beaten after picking up an upper arm injury. Austria's most successful tennis player, Thomas MUSTER, famously never won the tournament, despite being runner-up on three occasions. Bob BRYAN and Mike BRYAN won their 1000th victory on the ATP Tour in the 2016 quarter-finals.
