The tournament was founded in 2003, 23 years ago. Metz is one of the smallest cities to organize a professional tennis tournament. The event is the most important sporting event for city citizens, and its creators fought to keep the tournament that has become a beacon in the region and beyond. The title partner of the event is the General Council of the Moselle. In 2020, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
