Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Lyon

The event was founded in 2017, 9 years ago. Lyon hosted an indoor hard-court event from 1987-2009, but returned to the ATP World Tour calendar as a clay-court tournament instead Open de Nice Côte d'Azur event. It is one of five ATP World Tour tournaments held in France and takes place the week before Roland Garros. In 2020, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a year-long hiatus in 2025, the tournament returned to the ATP calendar in 2026 with a new stadium and a new surface - hard court instead of clay, replacing another French tournament Open 13 Provence, Marseille.
